Manuscript Assessments
A one to two page manuscript critique assessing your book's publish-readiness with strengths, clear next steps & more.

 

Developmental Editing
First and most intensive stage–focusing on the big picture of the manuscript rather than the mechanics of the writing. Will check story arc, pacing, character development, plot holes, and overall structure. For non-fiction, I will be checking if the argument is logical and the chapters flow in a way that makes sense. Extensive rewriting, moving, even deleting entire chapters, or adding new scenes, may be required.

Line Editing
Will go through sentence by sentence in order to improve the creative flow and voice of the book. The overall tone, clarity, word choice, and sentence variety will be rigorously assessed. Repetitive phrasing or clunky transitions will be removed as well. The goal is to make your content more engaging, evocative, and smooth to read.

 

Copyediting
Technical review of your write-up to ensure it is grammatically sound and consistent throughout. Will check and fix errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax while ensuring the text adheres to a specific style guide (i.e., Chicago, APA).  This also involves fact-checking for consistency (e.g., making sure a character’s eyes don't change from blue to green halfway through).

 

Proofreading
Fixing tiny gremlins such as literal typos, missing punctuation, extra spaces, other technical errors, and flagging potential problems before you hit publish.
